Gisella looks for Eugenio and Giovannino

Edizione:2007/2008

On Christmas eve of 1960 two twins were born in the civil hospital "Tabarracci" of Viareggio (Lucca, Italy), of a woman who could not hold them presumably because of her social condition.

Gisella, a nurse of pediatrics, encouraged by the head physician, decided to take care of them. She was granted temporary custody of the children, whose names were Eugenio and Giovanni, and she decided to bring them home.

She raised Eugenio and Giovannino for the four following years, together with the two children she already had.

In the meantime a family from New York (USA) started a legal procedure to be given the two brothers up for adoption. When their new parents came to Rome to pick them up, Gisella took them to the airport of Fiumicino. Once there, before Eugenio and Giovanni left to the USA with their new family, Gisella's children gave them two necklaces with two pendants engraved with the letters "GG".

When Eugenio and Giovanni were eighteen, they returned to Italy to look for Gisella. But they were given the address of their biological mother. When they met her, she told them she had never known of any other child then the five she had. Frustrated, they were compelled to return to the USA.

When Gisella knew about their coming, it was too late. She misses the two boys she has ever considered as two sons. She has tried to trace them, but till now unsuccessfully.
